TAG was thrilled to be invited by June Wiley, Regional Director of the Seattle King Snohomish YWCA (and TAG’s original mentor) to present our Friends & Family Workshop to a standing-room-only crowd and support the YWCA’s amazing work to protect and provide for domestic violence victims.
YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish joined with YWCA USA and The Allstate Foundation on October 24 to raise awareness about domestic violence by participating in a special event that recognized Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Called the Purple Purse TweetUp, held at YWCA Greenbridge Learning Center, the event [presented by the Thrivers Action Group] demonstrated to participants how they can approach and talk to a family member, friend or co-worker who they suspect of is a victim of domestic violence and learn what they can do about it.
More than 100 attended. In response, The Allstate Foundation donated $10,000 to the YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish to fund programs that support domestic violence victims.
